Metal Beds Seem To Never Outdate |
24 Dec |
The nice thing about finding the right bed today is that the variety is so vast and designs are so creative. Many people choose metal beds; not the old hospital prison bars look, but a more stylish and chic design.
Where it was once only the rich and glamorous who could afford these beautifully designed beds, they are becoming more available and affordable to all who wish to buy them. They can be found in a variety of finishes including iron, wrought-iron or hand casting, and come in gold, silver, white, charcoal, brass, or any other colour one might desire.
A metal high sleeper bed is also a great choice. It looks elegant while being very practical as it allows for more space in a small sized room. The designs available range from archers and circles to flower patterns, but the most popular amongst people is antique unrestored metal beds.
These beds are not only gorgeous to look at but give a feeling of travelling back in time. Their rich history and detailed finishes make spending a few more pennies on them well worth it. But what do people tend to prefer? Metal or leather beds?
While some might argue that metal is more durable and probably will never outdate, others believe leather is more modern and brings a sense of boldness, whereas beds made from metal are more feminine. However, at the end of the day, a bed should match the personality of its owner and complement its surroundings.

Caring For Your Double Mattress |
12 Dec |
There are a number of reasons that lead to the purchase of a double mattress. And there are also different factors that influence the decision in making the choice to purchase this particular mattress.
Although primarily purchased for their comfort and ergonomics in allowing more freedom of movement or positioning during the sleep phase, the double mattress is most affiliated to designer beds.
Cast iron frames built to accommodate one of these large mattresses are almost as popular as the wooden beds that so often come with this type of mattress size. But whatever your preference or style of bed, there are a few rules for the correct upkeep of your mattress.
Ensure that the base you lay your mattress on is the suitable size. This will ensure longevity of the sponginess and evenness of distribution of weight on your mattress, which will prolong the use of the mattress. Take turns sleeping on different sides of the mattress if it is for one person. If two people are consistently sleeping on the mattress then be sure to swap sides and turn the mattress over entirely every now and then.
Where possible prevent the kids from jumping on the mattress as this really wears out the springs quickly. Also, try to keep your adorable pets off the bed as pet hairs that get into springs will cause quicker eroding of the materials thus shortening the lifespan of your mattress.
Following these guidelines will not protect your mattress indefinitely, but will give you a longer use and increase the lifespan of your mattress.

Go Contemporary With Metal Beds |
27 Nov |
On hearing the term metal beds, one might be inclined to think of a torturous device used by arch enemies to torture their captors. But the opposite is essentially the truth in this instance. These wonderful beds are not only classified as contemporary art, they make for great comfort as well.
The appeal of metal beds is in the design and the fact that one has a huge variety to choose from. You could say that there is a bed for every personality type. Another great feature is the hands on do-it-yourself approach of these great beds. You get to assemble them yourself, which is great fun.
There are many designs available, all with their very own name and appeal. The Windsor bed, for example, gives the impression of great security, as it resembles the large gates of Windsor Castle.
The Braemar range, on the other hand, is very linear and bacheloresque and is ideal for the home that it is more contemporary. The smooth metallic look and sturdiness of the frame is enough to get any prospective buyer to seriously consider making the purchase.
Popular among the more mature buyers are the Como range of metal beds, which are also from the range of French Style beds. With its soft finishes and unique pattern design it is indicative of French architecture and that is what makes it a favourite.
Considering the rate of growth in this industry, it is very likely that we will see these beds becoming as popular as the timeless classic wooden sleigh beds.
