Memory foam pillows are made from “memory foam”, which is quite obvious if you’re familiar with the term. However, if you’re not, a quick insight into the properties of this specific foam will explain the desirability of the pillow.

This foam is made from polyurethane, with chemicals added that increase the viscosity level, and consequently its density. The great characteristic of memory foam in mattresses and pillows is that it is sensitive to heat. It is firmer when it’s cold, but reacts fairly quickly to body heat. Therefore, as it warms to your body, it softens in the body region and moulds to the shape of your body. The balance remains firmer, providing constant support.

It is widely used in medical applications – hospital mattresses and pillows, wheel chair pillows, etc. – to relieve pressure in sensitive areas like the spine, yet provide proper support.

Memory foam pillows are specifically designed to give proper support to your head and neck, yet mould to your body shape where the warmth is produced, for maximum comfort. There are ventilation holes in the centre of the pillow, to provide better air circulation. These pillows are great for relieving tense neck muscles and even help to prevent numbing in the arms.

Whether you’re shopping for leather beds or wood, divans or futons, inner spring mattresses or foam, whether it’s girls’ beds or boys’ – no matter how luxurious or expensive the bed, an inferior pillow can rob you of the restful night’s sleep that you need.

The lack of a good pillow could have you waking up during the night with numb limbs, difficulty breathing, and wake you in the morning with a stiff neck. A good pillow is a great investment.
