Storage Beds – An Answer to Space Constraints |
5 Nov |
Apartments and the small bedrooms often found in modern homes invite innovation when it comes to storage space. Bed manufacturers have come up with some excellent designs in storage beds to alleviate the problem.
The concept is no longer just in the domain of children’s bedrooms, where boy’s beds were once the main target. The design has been adapted to very elegant bedroom furniture, not limited to beds alone, but incorporating complete designs in storage sets.
Adult storage beds are available in most sizes and many designs. There are wooden beds of elegant designs with pullout drawers built into the bases, some on two levels. There are also those more of a ‘box-like’ nature that have pullout drawers two levels high on both sides, as well as at the foot.
If that’s not enough space, add a matching headboard that comprises shelving units and a bookcase. A matching padded bench chest at the foot of the bed and matching chest of drawers completes the set.
Another call for space saving in a small bedroom, particularly a child’s, is where there’s an occasional need for a spare bed. That’s where the trundle bed is great. The spare bed slides into the base of the main bed, out of everyone’s way until it is needed.
The beds, adult and children’s, come in a variety of styles, including the elegant sleigh beds, platform beds, bunk beds and even some themed beds for kids, so one doesn’t have to compromise looks for utility.
No bedroom can ever look attractive amid clutter; but now, more than ever, the facilities are available to remedy the situation, even in confined spaces.
