The Popularity of Bunk Beds |
20 Nov |
There is no secret to the benefits of having and using bunk beds. Not only do mothers use it to save on space, but the military, scouts and the navy have all found wonderful uses for these types of beds.
Military training bases are one of the most common places that one would come across bunk beds. Soldiers are trained to keep together with their fellow platoon mates and these types of beds encourage these soldiers to always be near to each other. The beds are often used in parts of the fitness drills utilized by the military.
Another popular place one would find these beds being used is at camps – scouts camps, summer camps and various sports camps – where the need for space is sometimes limited. In this situation bunk beds are ideal for housing more than one child on one space of land.
Due to their design, these beds became the standard for the Navy as well. Sailors who spend countless hours at sea in limited space are able to sleep quite comfortably on these beds, while the Navy is able to maintain a healthy number of sailors on the vessel.
These beds are not just useful but a necessity on submarines as the vessels themselves are built in a specific shape and size, and bunk beds allow the navy to maximize the capacity of people that can be accommodated aboard their vessels. They are also referred to as storage beds as in some instances they can be mounted on the wall and can fold away.
These beds have been around for quite some time, and because of their sheer practicality, will be around for some time to come as well.
